Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. is not interested in the simple accumulation of members and chapters. Our emphasis, however, is in the quality and integrity of our membership. Gamma Phi Delta is looking for men who exemplify fellowship, evangelism and discipleship and want to live a “First Class, First Choice” lifestyle in Christ Jesus.

Membership and Chapter Administration
Membership Intake
1. How do I get an application?
To request an application an aspirant must go to the Contact section of the website and select “Regional Directors” Select the director in the region where you live and director will email the application packet to the account listed by the aspirant or be directed to the nearest chapter.
2. Where do I send my completed application?
The completed application should be mailed or emailed to the respective Regional Director who oversees the state the chapter you are interested in is located. If you are at an established chapter please give the application to the Dean of Orientation. Do not mail any applications to the National Headquarters.
3.How do I get recommendations for my application packet?
It is each aspirant’s responsibility to gather his own recommendations. Three recommendations are required to be received from members of the chapter that you attempting to be initiated through and two can be from any community or faculty member.
4. What are acceptable forms of payment for my initiation fees?
The only acceptable forms of payment are money order, cashier’s check, or certified check. Cash can be only accepted at an established chapter.
Q. What is a fraternity?
A. A fraternity is a brotherhood.
Q. What are the advantages of joining Gamma Phi Delta?
A. Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. does not seek members; quality men of God seek Gamma Phi Delta. A man who successfully completes the membership intake process will immediately have access to a brotherhood of men who share similar ideals and aspirations of becoming better brothers in Christ.
Successful applicants will have a strong presence at the college, university or graduate chapter where they gain admission, but he will also become a part of a national organization known worldwide.
Gamma Phi Delta has many members who are involved in various academic disciplines and professional endeavors throughout the United States.

Q. How much time is required?
A. Chapter members typically attend monthly meetings and participate in committee assignments. Beyond these obligations the time commitment that one chooses to invest in the organization is at their own discretion. The majority of members enjoy the comradeship and they are eager to participate in chapter functions, fellowship with the brotherhood and become officers and accept committee assignments.
Clearly, members will get out the fraternal association as much as they invest. What you put into Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. is what you will get out of it.
Gamma Phi Delta recognizes four types of membership, Undergraduate, Alumni, Liftetime and Honorary. An aspirant (a man seeking membership into Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc.) may apply for membership into a college Chapter as an undergraduate student in good standing at a fully accredited two or four year college or university. Undergraduate Aspirants can only join the Fraternity at a College or University where an active chapter is present. Aspirants may also apply for membership into an Alumni Chapter as a graduate who has earned a degree from a fully accredited four year college of university. Alumni Aspirants are encouraged to join chapters that are within a 60 mile radius of their permanent place of residence.
All Membership Intake Processes, undergraduate and alumni, shall conform to the same rules and regulations set forth by the Constitution & By-laws and elsewhere. NO intake process may contain activities barred by the laws of the Fraternity, municipalities, states, academic institutions, and the federal government. Membership in Gamma Phi Delta does not give a member the privilege to initiate new members, nor is a chapter granted the privilege outside of its charter area.
Eligibility Requirements
Undergraduate Membership
Any male student of an accredited college may be presented as a candidate for membership in a college chapter provided that he:
- A person seeking membership into any chapter of this corporation must comply with all rules and regulations set forth by the campus student activities office of the college or university in which the person is aspiring to attain membership into Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc.
- The minimum grade point average requirement is a 2.3 or above on a 4.0 scale.
- All persons must be male and enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited 2-year or 4- year college or university.
- All members must be willing and able to adhere to the vision of this corporation.
- No member of Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. shall inquire or obtain membership from any other collegiate or intercollegiate fraternity. This does not include organizations that are honorary societies and professional groups.
- All candidates must be male (in accordance with title IX U.S. Education Act Amendment of 1972)
- Open to any student/faculty regardless of race, national origin, creed, political affiliation, religion, age, and handicap or veterans status.
- No member of any other collegiate or intercollegiate fraternity may seek or obtain membership from Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. This does not include organizations that are honorary societies and professional groups.
- Is of good character;
- Is registered to vote, if eligible and qualified; and
- Is sponsored by three (3) members in good standing.
Alumni Membership
The purpose of the alumni involvement is to continue the purpose and vision of Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc., outside of the collegiate and university establishment. Gamma Phi Delta alumni are encouraged to (a) serve their local communities; (b) raise funds to support the fraternity initiatives; (c) groom recent graduates; and (d) assist undergraduate chapters. Their willingness to give back to the fraternity helps them to put into practice the love of God.
Any male holder of an earned baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university may be presented as a candidate for membership in an Alumni Chapter provided that he:
Has been minimally conferred a four year baccalaureate degree from an
- Accredited institution;
- Is of good character.
- Is registered to vote, if eligible and qualified.
- Is sponsored by three (3) members in good standing.
Honorary Membership
The purpose of Honorary Membership into Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. is to honor individuals who have made a significant contribution to the fraternity. These members have help the fraternity “excel spiritually, mentally, physically and socially”. As one of the highest awards given by Gamma Phi Delta, honorary membership is exclusive.
Qualifications:
Men who meet the following:
- Christian
- Solid Christian character who are outstanding members of their community on a local, state, or national level
- Have made a significant contribution to the fraternity
- It shall be performed over an extended period of time of at least 3 years
- It cannot be solely based on financial contributions to the fraternity
- Have completed their baccalaureate education or is beyond traditional college age and has commensurate life experience
- Is not a member of Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc.
- Is not a member of a different social fraternal organization at any level as stated in Gamma Phi Delta’s constitution (article III, section 1)
Privileges and Responsibilities:
Honorary members will:
- Have the right to attend all fraternal functions
- Not be assessed annual dues
- Adhere to the Constitution and By-Laws of the fraternity
- Entitled to all rights and privileges of fraternity, Inc., except the following:
Voting
Holding officer’s positions
Lifetime membership (*honorary members automatically become lifetime members at the time of approval)
Instructions on Nominations:
Nominations will be accepted from any active member of Gamma Phi Delta
Christian Fraternity, Inc., but shall be submitted in the following
ways: through a local undergraduate or alumni chapter only.

3 letters of recommendation will be needed:
One from a chapter officer of a local chapter
One from a regional officer
One from a person not associated with Gamma Phi Delta, but can attest to the character of the nominee
Honorary member(s) will be announced and recognized during the GammALO: One Accord National Conference, held every August.
Hazing Policy
“Hazing” is an intentional, knowing, or reckless act, occurring on or off the campus of an educational institution, by one person alone or acting with others, directed against a student. It endangers the mental or physical health safety of a student for the purpose of pledging, being initiated into, affiliating with, holding office in, or maintaining membership in any organization whose members are or include students.
Gamma Phi Delta strictly has a zero tolerance policy towards hazing in any forms within our fraternity. Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. does not condone hazing in any form.
Other Common FAQ
Why A Greek Name?
- Fraternity comes from the Greek word “fratern,” meaning brotherhood where the brethren had a common purpose or interest.
- The Greek alphabet is very significant to the symbolism that we desire to express.
- Our desire is to restore the original purpose of the fraternity
Do you have a sister organization?
Yes, our sister organization is Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc. founded in 1990. Their website is www.alocs.com
How do I start a chapter?
Contact a Regional Director from your area by visiting the Contact page and emailing the director for information.
Do I have to be a Christian to join Gamma Phi Delta?
You do not have to be a Christian to obtain a membership into Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. Membership shall be open to any student/faculty regardless of race, national origin, creed, political affiliation, religion, age or handicap, or veteran status. However, we do teach and endorse the views and beliefs of the Bible.
Do we have any denominational affiliations?
We are not affiliated with any denomination of the Christian faith.
Can I be apart of another social fraternal organization and be apart of Gamma Phi Delta?
No member of any other college or intercollegiate fraternity may obtain membership from Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Incorporated. Membership shall only be granted to students who have previously joined another single sex organization provided they relinquish all rights to membership in their former organization(s). This does not include organizations that are honorary societies and/or career professional (i.e. National Association of Black Journalist, Beta Beta Beta, etc.). This section applies to all members who obtained membership into Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Incorporated after April 7, 2001.
